Job purpose


Reporting to the Business & Marketing Director, the role of Marketing Communications Executive is to support the Communications and Events team to implement B2B marketing and communication plans across our client portfolio specifically aimed at generating new business opportunities within target markets.


The role requires someone with excellent organisation and time management skills, an understanding of B2B marketing, a hands-on approach, strong written communication and copywriting skills and a high level of attention to detail.





Responsibilities and accountabilities


The responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:


Marketing Communications activities


  • Desktop research including but not limited to – content idea topics, sector  / industry trends, competitor analysis, social media and existing marketing asset audits
  • Compiling content packs and links for agency clients
  • On accounts you work on – prepare presentations for content and event planning sessions with clients
  • Write and execute email campaigns that attract and engage the taregt audience


Event management


  • Create event timelines for Communication Managers
  • Liaise with venues to obtain availability and valid quotes, book event space including managing all invoicing, AV and catering requirements. Ensure Communications Managers have all relevant information needed for venue liaison.
  • Build and design the event micro-site in-line with the clients branding guidelines, ensuring it complies with ‘what makes a good event’ in the communications processes document
  • Create and execute email invites, reminders and confirmation campaigns
  • Build targeting lists for BDM’s and BDE’s in the CRM for targeting – ensuring each person in the events calling team have clearly defined targeting list
  • Schedule event briefing meeting for Strategy Director and relevant BDM’s and BDE. Check with Anna what BDE has been assigned to your event
  • Check in with the events team (including BDE’s) on a day-to-day basis to ensure they have enough data and fully understand who they are targeting
  • Set up and maintain the Google Drive document with registrations using the comms event registrations template
  • Attend the event on the day and manage all delegate registration.
  • Update CRM to reflect prospects who registered, registered but didn’t attend and attended


Data activities


  • Core responsibility for data sets and targeting for clients you work on
  • Brief and track all data briefs for your clients, including a face-to-face briefing with data team to fully understand targeting. Please refer to ‘communications processes’ handbook where this process is clearly outlined
  • Work with the data team to curate and develop company target lists for new clients
  • As required and requested by Strategy Directors, source ‘top 100’ contacts using Sales Navigator
  • Brief all ‘bounces’ into the data team and upload all corrected validated data into relevant CRM system
  • Review client databases regularly to identify areas for improvement and identifying new target areas


Account management


  • Build and maintain relationships with clients that you are assigned to
  • Communicate with clients on a day-to-day basis to ensure they’re updated and are chased for things that they need to provide them. 
  • Arrange all their + client meetings including sending meeting requests
  • Write and distribute all meeting minutes and next actions from internal and external client meetings
  • Prepare all client facing documents including presentations, communication reports and strategy documents / plans


Internal responsibilities


  • Support the Business & Marketing Director and Communication Managers on client accounts, internal tasks and initiatives
  • Answer the office phone and direct enquiries to the relevant people
  • Complete the Sainsbury’s order for the office each week
  • Help to organise social events and team days / nights
  • Ensure the stationary supplies for the office are kept topped up
